SCUK Power BI Analyst

An exciting opportunity to take on the role in the BI Team delivering a self-service Business Intelligence solution that enables the business to improve its reporting and analysis capabilities.
The role requires a self-motivated and highly analytical candidate with strong experience in implementing and supporting the use of Power BI across an organisation.
The role will be internal customer-facing and will cover all aspects of the BI delivery process including the facilitation / clarification of report / data requirements. The primary responsibility for this role will be to support and facilitate the use of Power BI.
This role reports to the Head of BI as part of the BI Team within the IT department.
Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.
Responsibilities will include:
Participating in / Leading BI requirement gathering
Analysis of existing reports, and new reporting requirements
Documentation of clear requirements to development and testing
Creating reports within Power BI, Business Objects Web Intelligence and SAS
Production and execution of Test Scripts for BI deliverables
Providing Power BI expertise, mentoring and best practice to support business users with report writing and distribution of queries
Peer review of new Power BI reports, including code (M and DAX) and modelling approaches
Staying up to date with the updates to the Power BI platform and how these affect Power BI usage
Keeping the Head of BI informed of progress and issues on a timely basis
Mentoring/support for junior team members
Deal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework

What we’re looking for:
Highly analytical and numerate
Ability to understand both the bigger picture as well as individual tasks
Ability to work both as part of a team, and individually
Solid work ethic with attention to detail
Proven ability to understand both business and IT processes
Coaching and mentoring users throughout the BI development lifecycle and in the use of BI tools is desirable
Forward thinking, receptive to new ideas and suggestions, flexible, and able to look beyond the current way of doing things
A background in Financial Services would be advantageous
ITIL Foundation (or equivalent) is desirable
Prince II Practitioner (or equivalent) is desirable
